Each area - Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein, Grossarltal and Hochkönig - is massive in its own right.
It is almost impossible to ski them all on the same holiday - but you can try! It´s certainly possible to try several areas, as ski buses connect them with each other and with Salzburg .
This is skiing and boarding for all levels, and for all the family, from large lift-side nursery areas to tricky, testing black runs. From your hotel direct to your favourite piste! Are you a powder enthusiast or a pleasure skier? The World Cup village of Zauchensee is the highest ski resort in the Salzburger Sportworld. Quietly situated on the edge of town, apartments Hilton is only a two minute walk into the town centre of Altenmarkt, this unspoilt, traditional little town has everything to offer from Supermarkets, bakeries, bars, restaurants, cafes...to chemists, banks, sports shops, clothes shops and not at over inflated prices, you would expect to pay around 3 euros for a beer and 6-8 euros for a pizza and it won't cost you much more to eat in the mountain restaurants!
There is a regular ski bus service, a short ride will take you into the heart of the 'Ski Amade' region and again it is a level two minute walk away. Although this area is relatively unknow to British skiers most of the locals speak very good english and are very friendly and welcoming.
There is also the posibility of skiing on the 7th day as many UK flights leave in the evening, at Apartments Hilton we also offer you shower & changing facilities so you can freshen up for your flight home.
ALTENMARKT SKI AREA
Location: Access via Hochbifang lift (Altenmarkt) or Königslehen gondola (Radstadt)Snow condition: Ski area up to 1,571 m with modern snow-making facilities
Prepared piste: Total of piste: 20 km; easy (blue): 8 km; medium (red): 12 km With its beautiful views over the two towns and the surrounding mountains and the excellent snow conditions, this ski area is especially suitable for families and novices as it boasts easy piste and nursery slopes at the base stations.
ZAUCHENSEE SKI AREA
